SUMMARY

This one day training course offers both seagoing and shore personnel an in depth look at the new SIRE 2.0 programme. The new SIRE 2.0 is a complete reset of the ship inspection process and has tailored question sets for each vessel. The new SIRE 2.0 focusses on different competencies than the previous VIQ versions.

The course combines lectures and a an interactive discussion on how SIRE 2.0 works and focuses on three main areas, the responsibilities of the ship operator, the responsibilities of the ship’s staff and the role of the inspector.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES

The new SIRE 2.0 will run in parallel with the current SIRE system for about 6 months in 2022. This course will provide an insight into SIRE 2.0 and the key changes that will affect ship operators, superintendents, ship inspectors etc before, during and after the physical inspection of the vessel.
