SUMMARY

With increasing maturity of the offshore oil and gas industry, the requirement to operate a pipeline beyond its original design life is becoming commonplace. Engineers are expected to maintain an ageing pipeline infrastructure to reduce operation shut downs.

By attending this course, you will be able to understand the steps required for design a pipeline, the challenges which might exist, various sources of loads which can cause pipeline failure or fatigue and make it not fit for purpose based on major design codes of practice.

This comprehensive “Subsea Pipeline Engineering” course provides an overview of subsea pipelines engineering. The topics of the course are carefully selected to cover pipeline engineering aspects from conceptual to detailed design and maintenance.

The principal code followed in this course is DNV-OS-F101 “Submarine Pipeline Systems” together with other DNV recommended practices such as DNV-RP-F105, DNV-RP-F109, DNV-RP-F110 and DNV-RP-F112. However, alternative codes such as ASME and PD8010 will be mentioned for comparison.
